Darby Beautification Day 2024!

Help us beautify the Friendship Garden! We need volunteers to help garden and finish painting a mural!

Location: “Friendship Garden” on the Darby Ave. side of the campus, immediately south of the TK classrooms

Items needed

25-35 adult volunteers, kids welcomed

Water and Light Refreshments

For the garden Bring your tools! We need: 

Weed pulling tools

Weedwhacker

Work gloves

Planting soil

Wild-flower seed or ready-to-plant low-maintenance flowers

Outdoor benches if possible

Wood chip to cover 40 feet by 1 foot

For the Mural

Paint to finish mural

Paint brushes

Tarp

The Plan..

This year's Beautification Day will focus on the Friendship Garden located on the Darby Ave. side of the campus, immediately south of the TK classrooms. The garden is approximately 34 feet wide by 40 feet long and is overgrown with weeds. There is a 32-foot-wide unfinished mural that needs to be finished and there are (5) 24-inch by 24-inch planter boxes that need fresh soil and plants. 

The rest of the garden must have the weeds pulled up and overgrown bushes removed. There are 2 small concrete benches but it would be great to be able to add more outdoor seating so that students can use that space.
